Poul Friis Nyboe studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and was known for his paintings of aesthetic interiors featuring female figures lit by candlelight.

His work has been offered at auction at Christie's and Bonham's and is exhibited in several Danish museums.

Some wear to frame commensurate with use, with knocks/chips to the veneer as pictured.
